WHAT IS MEDICARE PART D?
The Medicare Part D notice refers to the notice provided to Medicare-eligible individuals whether or not their insurance coverage provides creditable coverage for prescription benefits.

WHEN IS IT DUE?
Notices are due between Oct 15 – Dec 7, once a year, or three months before the individual turns 65.

WHO IS IT FOR?
Notices must be provided to Medicare eligible workers and their dependents, as well as retirees and their dependents. Additionally, Medicare eligible COBRA individuals and their dependents.

WHAT ELSE SHOULD YOU KNOW?
Organizations that provide scripted drug coverage to Medicare Part D eligible individuals must disclose to the CMS whether the coverage is “creditable prescription drug coverage”, online, and the link for the disclosure forms can be found here https://www.cms.gov/Medicare/Prescription-Drug-Coverage/CreditableCoverage/CCDisclosureForm.html.
